Her experience bridges legacy and digital; print, wire and broadcast; for-proft, non-profit and academia; and hyperlocal, local, national and international news. She\u2019s an editor at Z\u00f3calo Public Square, a non-profit that brings together ideas-based journalism and free events, open to all.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to that she was West Coast Editor in Charge for Reuters. Before that, Vice President for Digital News at NBC4 Southern California. She\u2019s also worked at AOL\u2019s Patch.com and the Los Angeles Times.<\/p>\n<p>Sara is an enthusiastic supporter of ONA\u2014she served on the ONA16 selection committee, on the faculty of the inaugural ONA\/Poynter Women in Digital Leadership workshop, twice shepherded NBC\u2019s sponsorship of the ONA conference diversity reception and has moderated and participated in many ONA workshops, sessions and panels. Sara is also an active alum of the JSK Fellowship at Stanford, focused on building a robust digital future for journalism. She taught journalism for five years at USC.<\/p>\n<p>For a true sense of Sara\u2019s insight into the needs of ONA, know this: she brought a bucket of the revered Dinah\u2019s Fried Chicken to an ONA-LA karaoke night, and it was well received indeed.<\/p>\n<p><b>Note: Sara is running for the ONA Board of Directors.
