A few notes for your week of eating:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eating @ ONA16: \u00a0<\/strong>Host hotel Hyatt Regency at\u00a0Colorado Convention Center offers full-service restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/denver.regency.hyatt.com\/en\/hotel\/dining\/Altitude.html\" target=\"_blank\">Altitude<\/a> (main lobby), the <a href=\"https:\/\/denver.regency.hyatt.com\/en\/hotel\/dining\/StrataBar.html\" target=\"_blank\">Strata Bar<\/a>\u00a0open daily until 2 a.m.\u00a0with drinks and snacks (main lobby) and beautiful <a href=\"https:\/\/denver.regency.hyatt.com\/en\/hotel\/dining\/PeaksLounge.html\" target=\"_blank\">Peaks Lounge<\/a>, on the 27th floor of the hotel, which is not a cheap selection, but definitely worth the elevator right up at night to check out the view.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/denver.regency.hyatt.com\/en\/hotel\/dining\/PerksCoffeeandMore.html\" target=\"_blank\">Perks Coffee<\/a>, in the main lobby, is a combination deli\/coffee and sundry shop &#8212; open 24 hours a day! It also sells wine &#8212; again, 24 hours a day. The hotel will also set up inexpensive grab-and-go options at lunchtime at kiosks on the first floor for a quick, portable lunch to bring with you to <a href=\"http:\/\/ona16.journalists.org\/midway\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Midway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to visit Disney&#8217;s networking lounge (Mineral Foyer, third floor), Google&#8217;s coffee lounge, Parse.ly&#8217;s refuel lounge and Viafoura&#8217;s hydration lounge (all in the Centennial Foyer, third floor)\u00a0for conversation, education and a variety of drinks and snacks throughout each day of ONA16 programming. Many other ONA exhibitors also will be offering treats, non-alcoholic refreshments and even libations in their lounge and booth spaces, so be sure to watch the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ONA16\" target=\"_blank\">#ona16 hashtag<\/a> and make the rounds of the Capitol Ballroom (fourth floor) and Centennial Foyer (third floor) to see what&#8217;s available.<\/p>\n<p>There are also a variety of receptions and events every day of the conference\u00a0featuring smoothies,\u00a0drinks and appetizers. Some require an RSVP for a drink ticket, but most are open to all full conference pass-holders. Check\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/ona16.journalists.org\/sessions\/\" target=\"_blank\">ONA16 schedule page <\/a>for details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food trucks\/food carts: <\/strong>As you walk around downtown, \u00a0you&#8217;ll see a number of food carts serving everything from hot tea to sushi. On Thursday, Sept. 15, a few blocks from the Hyatt Regency, food trucks will <a href=\"http:\/\/www.civiccenterconservancy.org\/event-civic-center-eats_88.html\" target=\"_blank\">gather in Civic Center Park<\/a> from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., for the 3x-weekly Civic Center EATS. Lobster, bao, cupcakes &#8212; it&#8217;ll all be there.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/foodtruckrow.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Track Denver food trucks here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Donuts, tacos +\u00a0beer:<\/strong> These options abound in Denver; each one could support its own blog post. Donuts to explore any time of day include\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gcdonuts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Glazed &amp; Confuzed,<\/a>\u00a0an outpost of famed Oregon bakery\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/voodoodoughnut.com\/voodoo-doughnut-locations.php#denv\" target=\"_blank\">Voodoo Doughnut<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eatmorejelly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jelly<\/a>\u00a0(which boasts a great breakfast menu).<\/p>\n<p>Taco houses worthy of worship include\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.margstacobistro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marg&#8217;s World Taco Bistro<\/a>, Austin import\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/torchystacos.com\/in\/denver\/\" target=\"_blank\">Torchy&#8217;s Tacos<\/a>\u00a0(get the fried avocado)\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/eltacodemexicodenver.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">El\u00a0Taco de Mexico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Set up your own brew tour\u00a0and\u00a0explore\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ratiobeerworks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ratio Beerworks<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.littlemachinebeer.com\/#little-machine\" target=\"_blank\">Little Machine<\/a> (near Broncos stadium),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/greatdivide.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Great Divide Barrel Bar<\/a>,\u00a0newcomer\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/spangalangbrewery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Spangalang Brewery<\/a> and literary themed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fictionbeer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fiction Beer Company<\/a>. Allergy-friendly!<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/tacostequilawhiskey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pinche Tacos\/Tacos, Tequilas, Whiskey<\/a><\/strong> (1514 York St., 10-minute ride)<strong>:<\/strong> Former food truck offers more than a\u00a0dozen kinds of savory tacos under $5 (try the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Shrimp &amp; Scallop Xnic-Pec)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and an expansive list of &#8212; you guessed it &#8212;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>tequila\u00a0and\u00a0whiskey.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/habitcarbon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Habit Carbon<\/a><\/strong> (1553 Platte St., 12-minute ride): This combo donut shop-bakery-coffee shop-cafe offers an &#8220;Exploded Breakfast Burrito&#8221; &#8212; egg, green chili, cheese and tater tots stuffed into a \u00a0brioche cone&#8211; that you should try at least once in your life. Extensive vegetarian options for lunch and dinner, too.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcorazonrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">D&#8217;Corazon<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0( 1530 Blake St., 15-minute walk): Mexican comfort food and $3.57 margaritas, made from scratch.
